HISTORY of The Seishindo Association
The Seishindo Association was started in 1996 by Taka Noburyu.
Seishindo Founder: Sensei Taka Noburyu
Taka Noburyu is the founder of the karate style, Seishindo. He founded Seishindo in 1996 and in 2003 established the Seishindo Association Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Sensei Taka studied under multiple karate masters and other martial art disciplines, and took what he learned and created the new style, Seishindo. Seishindo is unique in that it incorporates all three original styles of Okinawan karate: shuri-te, naha-te, and tomari-te. The association members will travel between Chico and Tokyo to cross train and learn from each other to ensure the unity of the art.
Sensei Shane Dubin
The Chico location is now run by Sensei Shane Dubin. He started training at the age of 12 in 2003. In 2010 he took over ownership and management of the dojo. He has traveled to Tokyo to personally train as an individual and as a teacher with Sensei Taka multiple times. Students have also traveled to Japan to learn and be promoted in rank. Sensei Shane has a commitment to the tradition of martial arts and the goals of Seishindo as a style.
